Who let the DDOGs out!! ;). Dang that was a incredible run from $70 to $132 with a nice 18% bump on earnings yesterday!! Almost a 2x in only about 3 months! I love those “overnight successes” that actually take years! I started buying DDOG on 9/9/19…almost two years ago at around $36/share!! Great companies make it easy, so I don’t have to worry about the day to day stock price fluctuations!!
We can’t complain about CRWD, NET, DOCU, LSPD or ASAN either. I’m expecting BIG things next week from UPST…if they announce the growth I expect, the stock price could surge back up above $180 (or it could drop if they don’t announce big enough!). Either way, the company seems to be firing on all cylinders and doing great with seemingly weekly announcements of new customers. I invest for the long haul… until I see a slow down or stumble. I have not seen that with UPST and anticipate furious growth to be announced.
I reduced my NET position a bit on the recent run-up in the stock price ($65 up to $122….almost 100% in three months) and reduced ZM today to buy more UPST and DDOG. Don’t get me wrong, NET will stay in my top 4 holdings, but had appreciated into far too high of an allocation at these higher valuations. No disappointment with their quarter at all…an aircraft carrier cruising steadily through the ocean at full steam ahead! NET is not the fastest grower in the portfolio at only a paltry 53% revenue growth q/q, but I was particularly impressed with their leading growth indicators, additional products, HUGE growth in large 100k+ customers, US government contracts, partnership announcements with Accenture and a rosy earnings call by Matthew Prince. I’ll continue to hold a 10-12% position in NET.
